seasonal magnet board, napkin coaster and fall frame

I found an idea for a seasonal magnet board here-http://sumossweetstuff.blogspot.com/2009/10/tutorial-tuesday-seasonal-wood-board.html
and this is my take on it.
Paint your piece of wood (any color, I chose black because it will go with anything).

Trace magnets onto wood, then hot glue down.

Create the image you want for the magnet, hot glue magnet to the back of it.  Voila!

Mine isn't quite finished, I want to add a bow to the tree, and make the gingerbread man cute.

I also attempted to make a coaster with a cute fall napkin.
It was a pain.

And I surprised myself by making a fall themed piece of art.
I started with one of the napkins seen above, a piece of gold cardstock, mod podge and some stickers. Carefully unfold the napkin, then refold it so that the stalk of leaves on each side are curved in opposite directions.  And be really careful when you mod podge the napkin, it will shred if you aren't easy on it.  I just did a thin layer on the cardstock, and smoothed the napkin over it.  I also lightly mp'd just the edges of the napkin.

I let that dry, and then went back and MP'd under the top layer (see at the bottom of the napkin, where it bubbled a little)?  I ran my brush really lightly underneath and pressed it back down.  Then I added my stickers and trimmed the excess from around the edges.  Popped it into the frame, and ta-da!

So what are you working on lately?

just a quick note...

I bought a Cricut yesterday.  It was kind of an accident.  :P  But I'm excited!!!

And I will post my seasonal magnet board when we get back from Cait's dance class, plus our letters for our bedroom that I finally put ribbon on so I can hang them.  And if they turn out, I will show you my fall themed coasters.  :)

Feel accomplished and generous

Today I felt crafty so I started my Christmas project that I am sending to my family members, but I cant post pics til after x-mas because then it will ruin the gifts! Also I gave away over 200 pieces of girls clothing, a bouncer, a floor play mat, 2 ride on toys, and a large box of baby toys to a E2's family that has twins that are 5 months old! Went to dinner with an old friend, who is on island until tomorrow, at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was nice, we haven't seen him in probably 4 years! Tomorrow we are going to Ko'Olina and I will make sure to take lots of pics!!! Every single one of my friends is either pregnant or had a baby in the past 3 months... my hubby keeps bugging me about wanting another one...... sigh. Anyways, tomorrow night I have to make a ton of fondant roses and I will post pics of them as I do them!! --- Thought for the day: Be thankful for what you have, not envious of what you don't have. You cant take your possessions to heaven, value people and relationships over materialistic things! Oh, I am doing good about walking everyday, hope i can keep it up over the weekend!

woohoo! Here's to our combined creativity...or is that craziness?

I'm excited- I have a friend to blog with!  Yay!  I don't have any pics to put up of my creative stuffs, but here is one shot I took of the trees finally turning colors here in south TX.

Anyhow, I will be back tomorrow with some pictures of all the projects I am currently trying to get done.

Eeeek! No longer a birgin... errr, that didnt work... anyways its my first post!

Today was an ordinary day, like any other which means it was spectacular! I am learning to shopsmart and got some fabulous deals on toys for xmas gifts. Hmmm, oh and my wonderful husband gave me one of my xmas gifts (because he wanted one of his!) and its a purse i LOVE! I am trying a new parenting technique from 2 different parenting books "123 Magic Parenting" and "Love and Logic". I will let you know how it goes as time goes by.
Today Kiska said the cutest thing ever- "Mommy, I cant walk on the grass, i dont have shoes on" Me: "Well I told you to bring your shoes, maybe next time you will wear them", Kiska "No, not really". LMAO! Asha has an odd rash but nothing to be concerned about...
Since this is about my creative side here is some pics of cakes as i learned...
